Digitalized yet Feel

Christmas came and vanished in a blink of an eye.  In a couple of days it will no longer be 2011 and I am going to have to rewire my brain to write my dates with 2012 (or in the Buddhist calendar 2555).  So much has happened yet there are still so many things waiting to happen.  Who knows what the future holds? Will the year 2012 be the end of the world or will it bring with it renewed hope? I suppose we will just have to live through it to find out.   I pray though that whatever happens, it brings happiness and that at the end of it all, we can look back and appreciate the year we had. The last few days I have finally gotten into the digital book age with the initiation of my first reading of a novel on tablet.  I never thought I would. (Thank you Alex for downloading roughly 10GB worth of novels onto my tablet!)  I had always been somewhat old fashioned in my preference for paper and having documents printed out.  I like th...

Three Hundred Nights

Tonight is the night I break the lucky 300th post. I therefore want to give a special note of appreciation and thanks to my dear readers. For each and everyone of you have and continue to inspire me. Your comments, your thoughts, and your support are an invaluable source of motivation for me to continue on writing. I also want to thank Alex who is always there by my side prodding me along whenever I need it. Thank you. Without your support, Having “Me” Time would most probably have been left to gather dust in a little corner and be one day labeled as “internet junk.” (Perhaps it might be so in the future, but not just yet. Not anytime soon.) I have to admit that writing out into the abyss of the internet day-in day-out can be somewhat of a daunting task. There is so much out there. The internet is a vast universe of its own and we occupy but tiny corner of it. A nano sized speck invisible to the human eye. For three hundred nights I have sat in front of my computer screen...

The Forest Trees

It's summer in Bangkok but we've been getting crazy thunderstorms these last few days as a result of Global Warming.  I therefore thought I'd like to share with you a poem I wrote in 6th grade.  Wow..it's been a long time, but even then I loved the environment and I loved the tall tall trees.  It's always fun to read through old writings :P  Take care and Save the Trees ! The Forest Trees                             by Swisa Ariyapruchya Tall, towering high above us, The trees stood majestically. In a forest, almost forgotten, They whispiered to one another. If one listened, One could hear, What was being said Among the many trees. When the wind blew, They swayed back and forth, Their leaves humming. Humming a tune of nature, A tune no longer heard. Many summers now Since I have stood, Listening in a forest. ...

Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary!  Yes, it's Having 'Me' Time's first Anniversary!  A little over a year ago (on March 16th, 2010 to be exact) I turned on my computer, logged into a very old blogger account that had been inactive for years, and wrote my first post.  I thank you Alex for encouraging me as you always have.  I had no clue how it would evolve and until this day I am still wondering where all this writing will take me.  The only thing I am sure of though is that I'm enjoying every minute on it and that I truly appreciate everyone who has continued to follow my posts as well as your comments.  They make my day. Thank you for reading :) A lot has happened in the past year, not only with me but with the world in which we live.  Imagine, a year ago who would have thought an earthquake and tsunami of such magnitude would occur in Japan? Haiti and New Zealand?  The middle east was still calm.  There were...

The Concept of "Time"

We leave Vienna for a day.  While unpacking boxes (yes I'm still not done) I came across a couple of old poems I wrote while in highschool.  Tonight I want to share with you one called "Time."  Let me know what you think!  Thank you and have a great end to Sunday :) TIME Time. What is it really? No one knows. An invention, an idea, A practical tool To communicate, To name a part of history. It seems endless But yet, There must be an end. There must also be a beginning. When did it all start? No one knows. We are all followers. Followers of time. We live by it, We work by it, That is our life. Our life, governed By an idea, A concept Called Time.
